Martin Balman is a BMX photographer who approached me to design him a unique identity. After much deliberation, we settled on the concept of a camera aperture within a bike crank as the main mark, with his name split either side that represents the pedals on a bike when aligned horizontally.
When it came to promotion and building brand awareness, we decided handing out business cards too formal an approach. Given the culture of the BMX and skate scenes, it seemed logical to produce a range of stickers Martin can hand out to friends and fellow BMX riders which can be ‘slapped’ around skateparks.
