Email Addresses

Should you decide to leave a comment on one of my blog posts, you have the option of including your email address. This is used solely to display a Gravatar, should the name/email address combination provided by the commenter have a Gravatar associated with it. Your email address is not displayed publicly or passed onto third parties.

I will NOT send emails to addresses collected through blog comments.

Email addresses collected through my email subscription form (powered by MailChimp) will be sent periodic emails whenever I publish a new blog post. You can opt out of these emails at any time by following the ‘unsubscribe’ link included in the email.

Emails collected through MailChimp will not be displayed publicly or passed onto third parties.

Analytical data

I use StatPress and to collect data relating to visitors to my site. This includes sites that visitors arrived from, operating systems and web browsers being used, and geographic location.

This data is used solely to measure the performance of my site so that I can improve it and tailor the content to my chosen demographic. Information collected is NOT passed on to third parties or made publicly available.

Cookies

Cookies are small files that ask for your permission to be downloaded and temporarily installed on your computer system. On my site, they are used for analytics and providing targeted advertising.

I use Google Analytics to monitor traffic to my site in order to improve performance. Data collected includes the operating system and web browser used, search engine search terms that result in hits, as well as other referring websites.
